You served, you sacrificed, and you carry things home that civilians will never fully understand. The transition can be lonely, and some nights are long. These verses are for the veteran who needs peace for the memories and a place to belong.
What God says over veterans
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Jesus gives peace the world cannot give; let not your heart be troubled.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Come, all who are weary and heavy laden, and He will give you rest.
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
The God of all comfort meets you and makes you a comfort to others.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Even through the valley of the shadow, you need fear no evil, for He is with you.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
He will not fail you nor forsake you; be strong and of good courage.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
A day is coming when God wipes every tear, and war is no more.
Where this all leads
Jesus knows what it is to be wounded for others; His scars are still visible. He does not flinch from what you have seen or done. He offers real peace for the memories, forgiveness for the regrets, and a family that will not leave you behind. You served your country; now let Him serve your soul.

A prayer for veterans
Lord, thank You for bringing me home. Give me peace for the things I carry and rest for the long nights. Heal what is wounded in me, forgive what needs forgiving, and lead me to people who understand. Let me know I belong. In Jesus name, amen.
