God is called the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comes close in sorrow, comforts you in your trouble, and then makes you a comfort to others.

As suffering presses in, the consolation that flows through Christ abounds all the more toward you.

Weeping may last through the night, but joy is promised to come with the morning.
A prayer for needing comfort
Father of all comfort, I am hurting and I need You near. Comfort me the way a mother comforts her child. Be my refuge in this trouble. Let Your presence be enough even in the valley, and let Your Word bring life to me. And in time, make me a comfort to someone else who is hurting. In Jesus' name, amen.
