Jesus Heals the Man at the Pool

Thirty-eight years an invalid, healed by a word. (John 5:1-15, King James Version (public domain))

A man had been unable to walk for thirty-eight years, waiting by a pool for a healing he could never reach in time. Jesus asked, do you want to be made well? then said, rise, take up your bed, and walk, and he did.

What it reveals about Jesus

Jesus goes to the one everyone else has passed by for decades. He does not need the pool or the crowd; His word alone is enough. Sometimes He asks the question we are afraid to answer: do you truly want to be made well?
