Jesus Heals the Centurion’s Servant

A word from afar, and a soldier’s faith Jesus marvels at. (Matthew 8:5-13, King James Version (public domain))

A Roman centurion asked Jesus to heal his servant but said, only say the word, for I too am a man under authority. Jesus marveled and said He had not found such faith in all Israel, and the servant was healed that hour.

What it reveals about Jesus

Jesus’ authority is not bound by distance or by who deserves it; He heals a pagan soldier’s servant from afar. What amazed Jesus was faith, trust that His word alone is enough. That kind of faith crosses every boundary.
