Bible verse

1 John 4:7

1 John 4:7

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

1 John 4:7 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Real love is not something we invent; it flows from God, who is love itself. When we truly love others, we show that we know Him and are born of Him. This is not mere sentiment but a costly, patient care for people who are hard to love. We can only give it because we first received it from Jesus, who laid down His life for us. Let your love for one another be the evidence of a heart made new by God, drawing others toward the Source of all love.
