“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
What it means
Prayer can feel like words tossed into silence, but this verse assures us that God hears. When we come to Him with a trust shaped by His will, we can be confident He is listening and answering as a good Father should. This boldness is ours because Jesus opened the way to God and welcomes us near. You do not have to wonder if your prayers matter. Bring your requests to Him honestly, seek what He desires, and rest in the certainty that He hears every word.
