Blessed are the pure in heart

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount · King James Version (public domain)

What it means

A pure heart is undivided, single in its love for God rather than pulled in a hundred directions. Jesus promises such hearts the greatest gift of all: they shall see God. What we most love shapes what we are able to see.

Take it in

Read the whole Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5 to 7) on The Living Bread, ask Simon anything you wonder about, and let this blessing reshape what you call a good life. You are welcome exactly as you are.
