What is the meaning of the cross?

In short

The cross is where Jesus died, and the center of the Christian faith. Christians believe that on the cross Jesus took our sin upon Himself, so that we could be forgiven and reconciled to God.

What looked like defeat became the greatest act of love in history. Three days later, the resurrection showed it was not the end.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
