What does the Bible say about hell?

In short

In Christian belief, hell is the tragic reality of separation from God, life apart from the source of all love and goodness. The Bible speaks of it soberly.

It is spoken of not to frighten, but to show how much is at stake, and how great God's mercy is in offering rescue to everyone through Jesus, not willing that any should perish.

“The Lord is... longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
