What is repentance?

In short

Repentance means turning, a change of heart and direction, away from going our own way and back toward God. It is less about shame than about coming home.

In the Bible, repentance and faith go together as the doorway into new life. It is the first step, and God welcomes it every time.

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”
