What is communion?

In short

Communion, also called the Lord's Supper, is the sharing of bread and cup that Jesus gave His followers, to remember His body and blood given for us.

Christians have understood its deeper meaning in different ways across the centuries, but all share it as a sacred act of remembrance, thanksgiving, and unity in Christ.

“This is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”

1 Corinthians 11:24 · King James Version (public domain)
