What is baptism?
In short
Baptism is a public sign of new life in Christ, going through water as a picture of dying to the old life and rising to a new one. It marks a person as belonging to Jesus and His Church.
Christians across traditions practice baptism, though they differ on its timing and mode. All share it as a sacred beginning.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that... even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
