What Jesus is really saying
Jesus did not treat illness as shameful or as proof of God's displeasure. He walked toward it. His healings were signs of a kingdom where every sickness is finally undone, and His tenderness tells us how God feels about anyone who is suffering right now.
Who these words reveal Him to be
The compassion that reached out and healed was the compassion of God. Jesus does not merely pity the suffering; He commands sickness to leave and it obeys, because He is the Lord over every broken thing. His healings are previews of the world He will one day make whole. He is the Savior who bore our infirmities, and He is near to everyone who suffers even now.
Come to Him
Whatever your body or heart is carrying, Jesus is not distant from it. Bring your weakness to Him honestly. He is near to the sick, and one day He will wipe every tear away.
