The words of Jesus
What Did Jesus Say About God the Father?
Jesus revealed God not as a distant force but as a Father who knows and cares for His children. Here is what He said about the Father.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”
Jesus, in Matthew 6:9, King James Version
He teaches us to approach God as Father.
“Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”
Jesus, in Matthew 6:8, King James Version
The Father already knows and cares about your needs.
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
Jesus, in Matthew 7:11, King James Version
He is a Father who loves to give good gifts.
“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”
Jesus, in John 14:9, King James Version
To see Jesus is to see what the Father is like.
“But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”
Jesus, in Luke 15:20, King James Version
In Jesus' story, the Father runs to welcome the child who returns.
Come to Him
Jesus came to show us the Father's face and to bring us home to Him. In Christ, the God of the universe becomes your Father, running to welcome you.
His words were always meant to lead you to Himself. You can begin with Jesus here, ask someone to pray with you, or read His words in the Bible.
