Nobody pays you for this. You show up early, stay late, and serve where you are needed, often unseen. These verses are for the volunteer whose quiet faithfulness matters more than they know, and who needs to remember Who they are really serving.
What God says over volunteers
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Serve heartily as unto the Lord; from Him you receive the reward.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Do not grow weary in well doing; the harvest comes in due season.

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
Use your gift to serve others as good stewards of God's grace.
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love.
“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Look not only to your own interests but to the interests of others.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
Your labour in the Lord is never in vain; be steadfast.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Let your good works shine and give glory to your Father.
Where this all leads
Every act of service, however small, is a small echo of the cross, where Jesus served us at the greatest cost. He sees what no one else notices, and He forgets nothing done in love. Serve for His smile, not for applause, and your ordinary hours become part of something eternal.

A prayer for volunteers
Lord, thank You for the chance to serve. Keep my motives pure and my heart glad. When I am tired or unnoticed, remind me that I serve You. Multiply my small offering, and let it point people to You. Help me give the way You gave. In Jesus name, amen.
