Bible Verses for Rejection

Being rejected, by a person, a group, a job, a dream, cuts deep and can make you question your worth. But the God who made you will never turn you away. These verses are for the sting of rejection, to remind you that you are chosen, accepted, and loved by the One who matters most.

What God says over rejection

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.”
When father and mother forsake me, the Lord will take me up.
“Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.”
I have chosen you and not cast you away.
“To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,”
Jesus too was rejected by men, but chosen and precious to God.
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
He chose you before the foundation of the world and accepts you in the Beloved.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
The one who comes to Jesus He will never cast out.
“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”
Fear not; He has called you by name; you are His.
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
If God is for you, who can be against you?
“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”
The stone the builders rejected became the head of the corner.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
He will not fail you nor forsake you.

Where this all leads

Jesus knows rejection from the inside; He was despised and rejected, turned away by His own. So when people turn from you, He understands, and He does the opposite: He calls you chosen, precious, accepted in the Beloved. No human 'no' can undo God's 'yes' over your life. You are wanted by the One whose opinion outlasts them all.

A prayer for rejection

Lord, this rejection hurts, and it is making me doubt my worth. Remind me that You have chosen me and will never turn me away. Heal the sting, and root my identity in Your love, not their approval. Thank You that I am accepted and precious to You. In Jesus name, amen.
