There is a voice that says you are not smart enough, strong enough, or good enough, no matter how hard you try. It is exhausting to carry. These verses are for when you feel like you fall short, to silence the lie and root you in what God says about you instead.
What God says over feeling not good enough
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
You are fearfully and wonderfully made; His works are marvelous.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
You are complete in Him; nothing is lacking in Christ.
Where this all leads
The gospel is good news precisely because you do not have to be good enough; Jesus was, in your place. Your acceptance was never earned by performance and cannot be lost by failure; it was purchased at the cross. In Christ, God does not merely tolerate you, He delights in you and sings over you. You are complete in Him, right now, exactly as you are.
Lord, I am so tired of feeling like I am not enough. Quiet the voice that condemns me. Remind me that my worth is not in my performance but in Your love. Thank You that in Christ I am accepted, complete, and delighted in. Help me believe what You say about me. In Jesus name, amen.
You were never meant to walk this alone
The family here will pray with you, and you can hear how Christ has met others in the same place.
What is a good Bible verse for feeling not good enough?
Ephesians 2:10 (God's workmanship), 2 Corinthians 12:9 (His grace is sufficient), and Romans 8:1 (no condemnation in Christ) counter the lie that you are not enough.
What does the Bible say about my worth?
That you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), precious and loved (Isaiah 43:4), accepted by grace rather than performance (Ephesians 2:8-9), and complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10).
