9 Bible Verses About Identity in Christ (KJV)
The world tells you your worth is your performance or your past. God tells you something truer: who you are in Christ. Here is what the Bible says about your identity.
What the Bible says about identity in Christ
Receiving Christ brings the astonishing right to be called a child of God.
The believer's true self is now defined by the Christ who lives in and through him.
We are God's own handiwork, made in Christ for a purpose he prepared beforehand.
The Holy Spirit himself assures us inwardly that we belong to God as his children.
In Christ you are new, chosen, wonderfully made, a child of God, and His own. Let that, not your failures, define you.
How these verses point to Christ
Who you are is settled by who Christ is and what he did. Apart from him we are lost, but "in Christ" everything changes: adopted, forgiven, made new. "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God" (1 John 3:1). Your identity is not earned by performance but received by grace, secured in the risen Son who loved you and gave himself for you.
