Much of the Christian life is learning to believe what is already true. The New Testament does not mainly tell those who trust Jesus to try harder to become someone; it tells them who they already are in Him: beloved, forgiven, a child of God, a new creation, a friend, more than a conqueror. Each page below opens one of these identities, roots it in the actual words of Scripture, and refuses both the flattery that says you are fine on your own and the despair that says you are beyond hope. It is all true, and only true, in Christ.
