In Christ you are not only forgiven and adopted; you are made an heir of God, sharing in the inheritance of the Son Himself. What belongs to Christ is shared with those who are His.

Inheritance follows from sonship. Because believers are made children of God, they are also heirs, and remarkably, "joint-heirs with Christ." This means they share in the inheritance that belongs to the Son. Paul says the same to the Galatians: "Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ" (Galatians 4:7).
