Psalm 27 Meaning
Psalm 27 opens with one of the boldest confessions of courage in the Bible: the LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Even if an army camps against him, David's heart will not fear.
At its center is a single, beautiful desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of his life and to gaze on His beauty. The psalm ends by urging the soul to wait on the LORD and take courage.
It moves honestly between confidence and need, from fearless praise to the urgent cry 'hide not thy face from me.' Faith here is both bold and dependent, sure of God yet still asking, still waiting.
