Bible Verses for Exhaustion and Weariness
You are tired in a way sleep does not fix: tired in body, mind, and soul. Everyone needs something from you and no one seems to notice you are running out. These verses are for the weary, to lift the load and renew your strength in the Lord.
What God says over weariness
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Those who wait on the Lord renew their strength; they run and are not weary.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Come to Jesus, all who labor and are heavy laden, and find rest.
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
He gives power to the faint and strength to those with no might.
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”
Daily He bears our burdens, the God of our salvation.
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
Though the outward self perishes, the inward is renewed day by day.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Do not be weary in well doing; you will reap if you do not faint.
“Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.”
Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully.
“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
The joy of the Lord is your strength.
“Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.”
As your days, so shall your strength be.
“I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.”
I lay down and slept; I woke, for the Lord sustained me.
Where this all leads
You were not made to run on empty forever, and God is not asking you to. Jesus carries the weary; He bears our burdens every single day. When your own strength is gone, His is not, and He gives it freely to those who wait on Him. Come to Him tired and honest, and let Him renew you from the inside out.

A prayer for weariness
Lord, I am so tired, deeper than sleep can reach. I bring my weariness to You. Carry the burdens I cannot. Renew my strength, restore my soul, and give me rest. Thank You that You bear my load every day. Sustain me. In Jesus name, amen.
