What God says over the ache of infertility
“And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.”
Hannah wept and prayed in the bitterness of her soul; God heard her.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Those who wait on the Lord renew their strength.
“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
The One who forms life in the womb holds this longing too.
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
The Father of mercies and God of all comfort will comfort you.
Where this all leads
God is not indifferent to this ache; He heard Hannah weeping and remembered Rachel. Your prayers and tears are not falling on deaf ears. Jesus draws near to the brokenhearted, and He carries this grief with you, whatever the road ahead holds. You are seen, you are loved, and your worth and future are secure in Him, whatever comes.

A prayer for the ache of infertility
Lord, You know the ache I carry and the tears I cry. Like Hannah, I pour out my heart to You. Comfort me in the disappointment and hold my hope. Meet me in this longing, and give me grace for each month. Whatever comes, help me trust that You have not forgotten me. In Jesus name, amen.
