Psalm 3 Meaning
David wrote Psalm 3 while fleeing from his own son Absalom, surrounded by enemies who said God would not save him. Instead of despairing, he turns his fear into prayer, calling the LORD a shield around him and the lifter of his head.
The most striking line is that he lay down and slept, and woke again, because the LORD sustained him. Peace in the middle of real danger is the fruit of trusting God rather than counting the odds.
