Bible Verses for Before a Test or Exam
Your heart is racing, your mind is spinning, and the exam is minutes away. You have studied; now you need a steady mind and calm nerves. These verses are for the moment before a test, to quiet the panic and remind you Whose you are, whatever the score.
What God says over an exam
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Be anxious for nothing; pray, and His peace will guard your mind.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Fear not; God will strengthen you and hold you up.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
God gave you not fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
If you lack wisdom, ask God, who gives generously.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Be strong and of good courage; do not be dismayed, for God is with you.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
He keeps in perfect peace the mind that is stayed on Him.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Be still and know that He is God; let your racing thoughts rest.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Trust the Lord and He will direct your steps, whatever the result.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
Do your work heartily as unto the Lord; give it your best and leave the rest.
Where this all leads
Take a breath. Your worth was decided at the cross, not the answer key. Jesus gives a sound mind and a settled heart, and He is with you whether you ace this or not. Do your best, trust Him with the outcome, and remember that no grade can add to or subtract from how loved you are.

A prayer for an exam
Lord, calm my racing heart. Clear my mind and help me recall what I have learned. Give me a sound mind and peace that this test cannot shake. Whatever the result, remind me my worth is in You. I do my best and trust You with the rest. In Jesus name, amen.
