Bible Verses for a Hard Goodbye
Some goodbyes tear at the heart: a loved one moving away, a child leaving home, a friend you may not see again for a long time. Distance is hard, and it is okay to grieve it. These verses are for a painful parting, to comfort the ache and hold onto hope.
What God says over a hard goodbye
“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
The Lord bless you and keep you and give you peace, wherever you go.

Take the ache to God and receive His peace over the distance.

“Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. May God direct our way back to one another and increase our love.
Where this all leads
No distance can separate you from the love of God, and no goodbye is final for those who are in Christ. Jesus is with both of you at once, holding what you have to release. He turns goodbyes into 'until we meet again,' and one day, for His people, there will be a reunion with no more partings at all.

A prayer for a hard goodbye
Lord, this goodbye hurts. Comfort my aching heart and go with the one I am parting from. Keep us both in Your care though we are far apart. Watch between us, protect them, and hold our love. Thank You that nothing can separate us from Your love. In Jesus name, amen.
