New faces, new expectations, new fears of not measuring up. A first day can be exciting and nerve-wracking at once. These verses are for the start of a new job, to settle your nerves, guide your steps, and remind you Whom you ultimately work for.
What God says over a first day at a new job
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Work heartily as unto the Lord; from Him comes the reward.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Be strong and courageous; God is with you in this new place.

Fear not; He strengthens and upholds you as you start.
“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
Commit this work to the Lord and He will establish it.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Let your light shine, that others may glorify your Father.
“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
You can do this through Christ who strengthens you.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
God has good plans for you in this new season.
