The Resurrection of Jesus
Easter is the celebration of the most important event in the Christian faith: that Jesus, crucified and buried, rose again from the dead.
Three days after Jesus was crucified, the women who came to His tomb found it empty. Christians believe God raised Him bodily from the dead, defeating death itself. The resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith and its hope of eternal life.
Because He rose, death is not the end for those who trust in Him. This is the heart of Easter: love is stronger than the grave.
“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
