Good Friday: the Day Jesus Died
Good Friday remembers the day Jesus was crucified, and why Christians call the darkest day 'good.'
On Good Friday, Christians remember that Jesus was crucified, giving His life for the sins of the world. It is called 'good' because through His death, the way to forgiveness and reconciliation with God was opened.
'It is finished,' Jesus said from the cross, the debt paid, the work of love complete. Good Friday leads to Easter, and sorrow gives way to hope.
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
