Palm Sunday

What Is Palm Sunday?

Palm Sunday remembers the day Jesus entered Jerusalem to shouts of 'Hosanna,' beginning the final week that leads to the cross and resurrection.

The crowds spread palm branches and cloaks on the road, welcoming Jesus as their king. Yet within days, many of those same voices would call for His death, and Jesus knew it as He rode in on a humble donkey.

Palm Sunday begins Holy Week: the road of joy that leads through the cross to Easter morning.

“Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.”
