Bible verse

Romans 5:1

Romans 5:1

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

Romans 5:1 (King James Version (public domain))

What it means

Because we are counted right with God through faith, the war is over. We no longer stand as guilty strangers but as reconciled children, at peace with our Maker through the Lord Jesus. This peace does not depend on your performance or your feelings on a given day; it rests on the finished work of Christ, who took the wrath we deserved. The verdict is settled. You can breathe. The One who justified you will hold you, and nothing can undo the peace His blood has purchased.
