Honest answers

What is the Lord's Prayer?

Answer

The Lord's Prayer is the model Jesus gave for how to pray: it honors God, seeks his kingdom, asks for daily provision, requests and extends forgiveness, and prays for deliverance from evil. It teaches us to bring both our worship and our needs to a loving Father.

A prayer was here before you

Your breath comes heavy tonight. The words of old echo softly. Remember the one who walked the dusty roads and spoke of a kingdom. You are not forgotten. In your quiet ache, listen for the gentle call to hope. Trust in the promise of tomorrow. Amen.

Someone in the family wrote this for whoever would one day read these words. You were thought of before you got here. If you want, a real person will pray with you, by name, at no cost and with no account. Ask them to pray with you.

Take the next step

You do not have to sort this out alone. On The Living Bread you can ask the family to pray with you, ask Simon anything about faith, read the Word, and find a church near you.
