A Christian View of the New Year
A new year is more than a date, for Christians it's an invitation to begin again in the mercy of God, whose compassions are new every morning.
The turning of the year is a natural time to reflect, to let go of what is behind, and to reach for what is ahead. Christians do this not with mere willpower but with hope, trusting a God who makes all things new and walks with them into every unknown day.
Resolutions may falter, but God's faithfulness does not. The best resolution of all is simply to draw nearer to Him.
“It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed... They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
