What Does the Bible Say About Tithing?
The Bible teaches that everything we have belongs to God, and giving back a portion, the tithe, is an act of trust, gratitude, and worship, not a tax.
In Scripture the tithe was a tenth given back to God, an acknowledgment that He is the true owner and provider. Giving loosens money's grip on the heart and trains us to trust God rather than our bank account.
The New Testament lifts giving from law to love: God loves a cheerful giver, one who gives freely, not grudgingly. The amount matters less than the heart, and God promises that no one out-gives Him.

How this points to Jesus
Jesus gave the greatest gift of all, Himself, holding nothing back. Our giving is only a response to His generosity. He owned nothing on earth yet made many rich; when we give, we imitate the God who so loved that He gave His only Son.
