Jesus said our words reveal our hearts and carry real weight before God. He calls us to speak from a heart made new, because what we say flows from what we are.

What Jesus is really saying
Jesus links the tongue to the heart with an unbreakable thread. Our words are not random; they are the overflow of what lives inside us. That is why He does not offer mere tips for polite speech but a new heart, from which good and gracious words can naturally flow.
Who these words reveal Him to be
He says our words will justify or condemn us, speaking as the Lord who will judge all things. Yet He is also the Word made flesh, God's own speech to us, and He came to give us a new heart from which new words can flow. Jesus is not only the Judge of the tongue but the Savior of the heart. In Him the God who hears every word is the God who makes us new.
Come to Him
If your words trouble you, the answer is not just trying harder but a changed heart. Come to Jesus, let Him fill your heart with His love, and watch your speech begin to change from the inside out.
