The words of Jesus
What Did Jesus Say About Anxiety?
For minds that will not stop racing, Jesus spoke words that quiet the heart. Here is what He said to the anxious.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
Jesus, in John 14:1, King James Version
Anchor a troubled heart in trust.
“And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.”
Jesus, in Luke 12:29, King James Version
Do not let a doubtful, restless mind rule you.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?... Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
Jesus, in Luke 12:6-7, King James Version
The God who remembers sparrows has not forgotten you.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus, in Matthew 11:28, King James Version
The invitation to the anxious is simply to come.
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”
Jesus, in Matthew 6:34, King James Version
You only have to face today.
Come to Him
Jesus does not dismiss your anxious heart; He steadies it with His presence and His care. You can hand Him what your mind keeps turning over, and let Him give you rest.
His words were always meant to lead you to Himself. You can begin with Jesus here, ask someone to pray with you, or read His words in the Bible.
