What Did Jesus Say About Peace?
On the night before He died, Jesus left His friends a gift the world cannot give. Here is what He said about peace.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Jesus, in John 14:27, King James Version
His peace does not depend on circumstances.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Jesus, in John 16:33, King James Version
Peace in Him holds even in trouble, because He has won.
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
Jesus, in Matthew 5:9, King James Version
Those who make peace reflect their Father.
“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
Jesus, in Mark 4:39, King James Version
The same word that calmed the sea can calm your heart.
“Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.”

His first word to His frightened followers after rising was peace.
Come to Him
The peace Jesus gives is not the absence of trouble but His presence within it. Because He has overcome the world, His peace can guard your heart today.
