The words of Jesus

What Did Jesus Say About the Kingdom of God?

The kingdom of God was the heart of Jesus' preaching, God's saving reign breaking into the world. Here is what He said about it.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

Jesus, in Mark 1:15, King James Version

God's reign has drawn near in Jesus; turn and receive it.

“Behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Jesus, in Luke 17:21, King James Version

It begins not with armies but within surrendered hearts.

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Jesus, in John 3:3, King James Version

Entering the kingdom takes new life from God.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Jesus, in Matthew 6:33, King James Version

Put God's reign first and trust Him with the rest.

“My kingdom is not of this world.”

Jesus, in John 18:36, King James Version

His reign is real, but it does not run on force.

Come to Him

Jesus is the King, and His kingdom comes wherever He is welcomed as Lord. To enter it is simply to bow to Him and receive the new life He gives.

His words were always meant to lead you to Himself. You can begin with Jesus here, ask someone to pray with you, or read His words in the Bible.
