What Did Jesus Say About Light?
Jesus called Himself the light of the world, and then, astonishingly, He called His followers light too. In Him the darkness lifts, and through us that light is meant to reach others.
“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

To follow Him is to walk out of the dark.
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

His light in us is not meant to be hidden.

What Jesus is really saying
Jesus is the source of the light; we are only the moon reflecting the sun. That order matters. We do not manufacture our own glow to impress people; we come to Him, are lit by Him, and let that borrowed light shine so others find their way to the same source.
Who these words reveal Him to be
I am the light of the world is a claim only God could make. Jesus does not merely bring good teaching into the dark; He is the light by which everything is finally seen. To follow Him is to walk out of the shadows for good. He is the Lord who spoke light into being at creation, now come as light into the world, the Savior in whom no one need walk in darkness again.
Come to Him
If you are in the dark, you do not have to find your own way out. Come to the Light of the world, follow Him, and you will never walk in darkness again.
