The words of Jesus
What Did Jesus Say About Heaven?
Jesus spoke of heaven not as a vague sky but as His Father's house, a real home He was preparing. Here is what He said about it.
“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
Jesus, in John 14:2, King James Version
Heaven is a home being made ready for you.
“Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
Jesus, in Luke 23:43, King James Version
He promised paradise to a dying thief who simply turned to Him.
“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt.”
Jesus, in Matthew 6:20, King James Version
What you send ahead to heaven is never lost.
“Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven.”
Jesus, in Matthew 5:12, King James Version
There is a joy waiting that outweighs every present hardship.
“Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am.”
Jesus, in John 17:24, King James Version
The heart of heaven is being with Him.
Come to Him
For Jesus, heaven is not mainly a place but a Person to be with. He went ahead to prepare room for you, and He promises to bring you home to Himself.
His words were always meant to lead you to Himself. You can begin with Jesus here, ask someone to pray with you, or read His words in the Bible.
