The words of Jesus

What Did Jesus Say About Doubt?

Jesus was patient with doubters, never turning them away for their questions. Here is what He said to hearts that struggled to believe.

“O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

Jesus, in Matthew 14:31, King James Version

He reaches out and catches the sinking, even as He asks the question.

“Be not afraid, only believe.”

Jesus, in Mark 5:36, King James Version

A gentle word to a heart on the edge of despair.

“Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands... and be not faithless, but believing.”

Jesus, in John 20:27, King James Version

He met doubting Thomas with evidence, not rejection.

“Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

Jesus, in John 20:29, King James Version

There is a blessing for those who trust without proof in hand.

“Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”

Jesus, in Mark 9:24, King James Version

He honored an honest prayer that mixed faith with doubt.
