A Prayer for Your Pastor
Those who shepherd God's people carry loads few see. This is a prayer to lift up your pastor, for their strength, protection, and joy.
Father, strengthen my pastor for the work You have given them.
Guard their heart, their family, and their faith.
Renew their joy when they are weary, and their courage when they are discouraged.
Give them Your words to speak, and protect them from the enemy.
Sustain them, Lord, and let them finish well. Amen.
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Questions people ask
What Scripture is a prayer for your pastor built on?
It rests on Isaiah 40:31. The prayer above is written in plain words around that passage, and the verse is quoted from the stored text, not from memory.
What if I have no words to pray for your pastor?
Start with the first line of the prayer above and stop there if that is all you can say. God hears the first honest sentence. You can also ask the family of God on The Living Bread to pray with you and for you.
Can I pray this for someone else?
Yes. Change the first person to their name and pray the same lines for them. Praying for others is part of loving one another, and you can ask the family of God to join you.
Pray this
Father, you are already present in For Your Pastor, before any of us arrive. We bring you your pastor, the persecuted church, revival. Let your Body in that place love one another and be one. In the name of Jesus, amen.
