What Is Pentecost?
Pentecost, 50 days after Easter, celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, the day the Church was born.
After Jesus rose and ascended, His followers waited as He told them to. Then, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they went out boldly to proclaim the good news. Thousands believed that day.
Pentecost is the birthday of the Church, the moment God poured out His Spirit so that His people could carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
