There is a way home
I want to believe again
Wanting to believe again is not fake, and it is not something to be ashamed of. It is honest. You are not manufacturing faith; you are noticing a real hunger for what you lost. That hunger is a good and trustworthy place to start.
What is true
A desperate father once brought his son to Jesus and said something that has comforted honest strugglers ever since: Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Jesus did not scold him for the mixture. He helped him. Faith does not require you to feel certain. It can begin as a willingness, a wanting, a prayer prayed into the dark by someone not sure anyone is listening. That is enough for God to work with.
What Jesus said, and did
One small step
Your one small step: pray the honest half-prayer: I want to believe, help my unbelief. You do not have to mean it perfectly. You only have to mean it truly.

Honest questions
- Is wanting to believe the same as believing?
- It can be the beginning of it. Jesus welcomed a man whose faith and doubt were tangled together. A willing, wanting heart is something God honors and grows.
- What if my doubts do not go away?
- They may not, all at once, and that is alright. Faith is not the absence of doubt but a direction of trust despite it. You can hold real questions and still turn toward God.
- How do I start believing again?
- Gently. Bring your honest wanting to God, read a Gospel slowly, and let the person of Jesus, not a system of certainty, be what you look at. Belief often grows in his company.
There is no rush
You do not have to decide anything today. You can read a little, close the page, and come back tomorrow, or never. Nobody here is keeping score, and you owe no one an answer. When you are ready, and only then, the gentlest place to meet Jesus is in his own words, watching how he treats the tired, the ashamed, and the ones everybody else gave up on.
