There is a way home
I miss God
If you miss God, take heart: the missing is itself a kind of prayer, and the way back does not begin with shame. It begins right here, with the longing you already feel. You do not have to grovel your way home. You are already being drawn.
Where are you right now?
God feels far awayFor the distance and the silence. How do I come back?A gentle, practical way home.I want to pray againWhen you have forgotten how, or stopped.Does God still want me?For the fear that you have used up your welcome. What is true
Jesus told a story about a son who took everything, wasted it, and came home expecting to be a servant. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, ran to him, and threw his arms around him. That is the picture Jesus paints of God's heart toward the ones who come back. Not a cold arms-crossed judge. A father already running. The distance you feel is not God moving away. It is the space he is waiting to close.
What Jesus said, and did
One small step
Your one small step: say the true thing, out loud or in a whisper: I miss you. That is enough to begin. You do not need the right words or a clean record.

Honest questions
- Is it too late to come back to God?
- No. The father in Jesus' story ran toward the son the moment he turned home. There is no expiration on God's welcome, and no distance too great to return from.
- Do I have to fix my life first?
- No. You come as you are, and the fixing happens with God, not before him. The son came home dirty and rehearsing a speech, and the father cut him off with an embrace.
- Why do I miss God if I stopped believing?
- The ache itself may be the truest thing in you. Longing for God is not proof of failure; many find it is the very beginning of coming home.
There is no rush
You do not have to decide anything today. You can read a little, close the page, and come back tomorrow, or never. Nobody here is keeping score, and you owe no one an answer. When you are ready, and only then, the gentlest place to meet Jesus is in his own words, watching how he treats the tired, the ashamed, and the ones everybody else gave up on.
