How to Study the Bible
Reading feeds the soul; study deepens understanding. Here's a simple, time-tested way to study any passage.
You don't need a seminary degree to study the Bible well. A few honest questions, asked prayerfully, open up almost any passage.
Observe
Read slowly. What does the passage actually say? Who is speaking, and to whom?
Understand the context
What comes before and after? What was happening when it was written?
Interpret
What did it mean to its first readers, and what does it reveal about God?
Apply
How does this shape how I live, pray, and love today?
Pray it back
Turn what you've read into a prayer, and ask God to work it into your life.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
