How to Hear God's Voice

Can you really hear from God? Christians believe you can, not usually as a booming voice, but in quieter, surer ways.

God still speaks. Learning to hear Him is less about technique and more about drawing near and paying attention. Here are the main ways Christians listen.

Through the Bible

God's clearest voice is His written Word. Read it expecting to meet Him.

Through prayer and stillness

Make quiet space. 'Be still, and know that I am God.'

Through His Spirit within

For believers, the Holy Spirit guides, convicts, and reassures the heart.

Through wise community

God often speaks through the counsel of trusted, godly people.

Test what you hear

Anything truly from God will agree with Scripture and with His character of love.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
