Who wrote the Bible?

The Bible was written by around forty human authors over roughly fifteen centuries, kings and shepherds, prophets and fishermen. Christians believe that behind them all, God himself inspired what was written, so it is both fully human and fully God's word, telling one story that leads to Jesus.
