Honest answers

How should I start reading the Bible?

Answer

Start with a Gospel, the book of John is a gentle entry, and read a little each day, asking God to speak. Look for what it shows about Jesus and what it invites you to do. You do not have to start at page one; you have to start.

“Psalm 119:105” the Bible points here. Read more Scripture.

A prayer was here before you

You sit at a table, pages waiting. Take a breath. Begin with the stories, the wisdom. Start where you feel drawn. Let the words unfold like a letter from a friend. Trust that you are not alone in this. He is near, even in the quiet. Amen.

Someone in the family wrote this for whoever would one day read these words. You were thought of before you got here. If you want, a real person will pray with you, by name, at no cost and with no account. Ask them to pray with you.

Take the next step

You do not have to sort this out alone. On The Living Bread you can ask the family to pray with you, ask Simon anything about faith, read the Word, and find a church near you.
