The test is done; now comes the waiting, and the waiting can be its own kind of agony. Your mind runs to the worst, and the phone will not ring. These verses are for the anxious wait for results, to steady you in the not-knowing and hold you in God's peace.
What God says over the wait for results
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Be anxious for nothing; His peace will guard your heart and mind.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Do not be anxious about tomorrow; today has enough of its own.
“Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
Your days are all written in His book; you are held whatever the news.
Where this all leads
You cannot control the results, but you can rest in the One who already knows them. Jesus is with you in this hard in-between, and nothing the report says can move you out of His hands. Give Him the outcome you cannot see, and let His peace, which makes no sense in the circumstances, guard your heart while you wait.
Lord, the waiting is hard and my mind keeps running to fear. Quiet my heart and give me Your peace. Help me trust You with what I cannot control. Whatever the results, remind me that I am held by You. Be near while I wait. In Jesus name, amen.
You were never meant to walk this alone
The family here will pray with you, and you can hear how Christ has met others in the same place.
What is a good Bible verse while waiting for test results?
Psalm 27:14 (wait on the Lord), Philippians 4:6-7 (peace through prayer), and Isaiah 26:3 (perfect peace) are steadying while awaiting results.
How do I stop worrying while I wait for news?
Bring the fear to God in prayer instead of carrying it (Philippians 4:6-7), stay in the present rather than tomorrow (Matthew 6:34), and rest in the God who already knows and holds the outcome (Psalm 139:16).
